A classic that has stood the test of time, the adidas superstar 80s clean sneaker has left its mark on fashion and sports. These men's shoes feature a leather upper with allover micro-perforations. Heritage elements like the rubber shell toe and serrated 3-Stripes keep them steeped in history.
The practice of updating sneaker classics with modern materials/technology is more prevalent than ever, and that's not a surprise. The idea that you can sport a timeless design and experience the best footwear innovation currently available, is very enticing. Adidas' latest creation provides us with a perfect example of this popular "best of both worlds" design model. The adidas superstar 80s metal toe "Primeknit" sports the legendary "Shell Toe" design that first debuted in 1969, with Primeknit replacing the leather on the upper. Primeknit is an ultra lightweight knitted material that provides a sock-like fit, ventilation, and support.
Jeremy Scott has given the sneaker world some of the most unique, and interesting silhouettes on some of our favorite models. Now Jeremy Scott gives us his take on the adidas superstar 80s pink that is know for it’s iconic shell toe design. Scott places his iconic wings design in the toe area right by the legendary shell toe design, but keeps the classic black and white colorway that we all know and love, it the perfect mix of new and old school.
The adidas superstar 80s rose gold Decon gets a full leather build in two colorways with laser etched detailing. They come in either black or white, and the lone contrasting tone is the tan left from the laser burning away the leather elements. Even the shell is done in leather, which abandons the typical rubber toe that we are accustomed to.
